Homeopathy can cure swine flu: TN official

Siddha and Homeopathy systems of medicine offered better
cure for diseases like swine flu, dengue and chikungunya,
rampant in several parts of the state, an official of
the Tamil Nadu Government said today. "The main reason
for the people to get scared of the mysterious diseases
-- swine flu, chikungunya or dengue -- is that they seek
remedy from the allopathy system of medicine which has
side effects," Principal Secretary and Director of
Indian Medicine and Homeopathy, G A Rajkumar, told media
here.
He said most of these
diseases cripple movement of the affected and lead to
one complication after other. "I assure, there is no
side effect in Siddha or Homeopathy.
" The southern districts
of the state have been hit by a mysterious fever that
had claimed over 30 lives and afflicted thousands in the
past few months. Two teams of experts from National
Institute of Communicable Diseases, New Delhi, and
National Institute of Virology, Pune, are in the state
to determine the causes of the fever.
Stating that there was
lack of awareness about Siddha and Homeopathy medicines,
he said "It has been proved by Siddha clinics that
Nilavembu Kashayam (Decoction from Nilavemu herbs)
brahmanandha bairavam, and amookara choornam (powder)
were effective in curing viral fever without any side
effects." Even Hepatitis, for which Allopathy has no
cure, could be treated with Siddha, he claimed.
Earlier, he released a
guide -- on Homeopathy and Siddha treatment for
chikungunya and swine flu.
